OmniCenter® offers comprehensive fault management for small/medium business, as well as enterprise-class organizations. While many management systems attempt simplicity at the cost of flexibility, OmniCenter® delivers both, by going beyond the basic 'ping test.' OmniCenter® offers flexible, in-depth application testing and multiple protocol support while being simple to configure and administer.
Service checks included with OmniCenter® allow intelligent testing of applications to detect issues that elude many management platforms, such as detecting page errors or defacement on web servers (even web servers requiring login), mail server problems, and broken login applications. OmniCenter® offers an extensive suite of test protocols and the modular architecture allows custom application tests to be added easily.
OmniCenter's smart handling of application failure detection allows you to automatically re-test failed services at a user-specified interval to suppress false alarms easily and automatically. Any given service can be tested and retested any number of times before notifications are sent.
Root-cause detection allows for redundant alerts to be automatically suppressed. WAN outages or core router failures don't have to generate alarms for every remote device.
Automated escalation can be configured to send notifications to other parties if alarms are not acknowledged within a user-specified time period. Acknowledgments can generate alerts to affected parties, explaining the situation and what is being done to correct it.
Using the Windows Management Interface, services on Windows servers can be automatically restarted based on a detected failure, so recovery can begin before users even detect the problem.
Alerts can be sent in many formats, including email, email-to-pager gateway, direct to pager terminal (via modem), and even SNMP traps to allow integration with other management systems.
OmniCenter's® customizable message formats for alert messages allow easy integration into trouble-ticketing and help desk systems, and alert messages can contain customized, specific information to allow corrective action to begin immediately.
OmniCenter® provides performance and capacity management unmatched in the industry. An incredible depth of automated and on-demand reporting allows complex, multi-part reports to be automated. OmniCenter® offers immediate access to critical data for troubleshooting, as well as providing a wealth of easy-to-configure automated reporting options, all while being simple to configure and administer.

Application-based reporting allows you to instantly visualize the exact impact any threshold or outage has on the applications in your environment, and easily produce historical reports to view application impact and availability over any time frame.
Thresholds can be set to automatically generate alarms when exceeded, and to calculate threshold exceptions over user-defined time frames. This allows false alarms to be suppressed by not reacting to short-duration spikes if the user desires. Thresholds can be user-acknowledged to suppress further alerts, and to allow instant identification of new issues, as well as recording incident history. Reports on 'time to acknowledge' can help to easily identify bottlenecks in help-desk operations.

Automated escalation can be configured to send notifications to other parties if alarms are not acknowledged within a user-specified time period.
Acknowledgments can generate alerts to affected parties, explaining the situation and what is being done to correct it. Using the Windows Management Interface, services on Windows servers can be automatically restarted based on exceeded thresholds, so recovery can begin before users even detect the problem.
OmniCenter® is designed to collect data using interfaces and APIs already present on your network devices, servers, VPN gateways, and wireless access points, insuring maximum visibility for applications, service, and performance statistics without installing agent software.
OmniCenter® is designed to be cross-platform and cross-browser compatible without the use of Java applets, so there is never anything to download, install, or run in order to get the full functionality of OmniCenter® from anywhere in the enterprise using only a standard web browser. By avoiding the use of Java applets, compatibility issues with installed run-time environments are completely avoided, and performance is optimized by making minimal use of client machine resources.
Additionally, the web interface is specifically designed for cross-platform compatibility with complete support for FireFox (1.5 or higher on Mac, PC, Linux, Solaris, AIX or HP/UX), Internet Explorer (6.0 or higher, including full support for 7.0), and Safari (1.0 or higher). This allows administrators in highly diverse environments to be guaranteed access to all the management information, statistics, and reports, from anywhere, regardless of platform.
OmniCenter® also provides integrated RSS feeds for all network issues and alerts, so you can keep in touch with the entire network via your Windows task-bar applet, Macintosh Dashboard applet, mobile device, or your favorite RSS news-reader, from anywhere in the enterprise or connected internet.
OmniCenter® has a powerful, easy-to-use, and practical Network Change and Configuration Management (NCCM) module built-in that provides complete and effective automated detection and logging of device configuration changes, drastically reducing the time required to troubleshoot and repair network issues related to configuration problems. This level of instant visibility can also eliminate configuration changes as a possible cause of outages quickly, allowing technical personnel to focus on the actual problems and not waste time trying to determine "who changed what."
Instant access to configuration change reports, automatic notification of configuration changes, and rapid deployment of configuration changes to any or all selected devices are just a few of the features that make OmniCenter® an ideal platform for managing any size network.

OmniCenter® keeps a comprehensive archive of device configurations, allowing any previous configuration to be compared with any other, or the current configuration, and the changes color-coded for easy reporting. Archives of device configurations can also be downloaded to provide unlimited archival options for regulatory compliance or change control.
OmniCenter® also includes automated port scanning functionality, to quickly spot new or potentially unauthorized applications on network attached devices, and can automatically alert administrators or network managers to take immediate action.
All of the thresholds, services, authentication information, and other device settings can be placed into device 'templates' that allow for an easy way to make sure all of the settings for a given type or role of a device are applied and maintained uniformly. A single template change will automatically propagate to devices that are linked to that template, making formerly time-consuming tasks such as changing all the bandwidth thresholds on 1,100 remote router WAN interfaces extremely quick and simple — less than a minute to complete.
While the administrator is always free to customize settings on a specific device, any changes from the assigned template can be quickly viewed in a report, and configuration changes deployed on any number of devices simultaneously — so an administrator never has to change settings one device at a time.
In addition, OmniCenter® keeps a comprehensive log of administrative configuration changes, providing an auditing trail which can be searched or archived for regulatory compliance or change control.
OmniCenter® also includes automated application discovery, detecting running applications and open ports on a device, and placing it automatically into intelligent Application groups, including E-Mail, Web, Microsoft File Sharing, Infrastructure, SQL Servers, VPN Devices, and many others. These default applications can also be disabled if users have their own application groups they prefer.
OmniCenter®'s Wizard interface provides step-by-step instructions for completing multi-step tasks, helping to train administrative users while they work, and guiding users through initial setup and crafting of multi-part automated reports such as SLA compliance.

By automating most repetitive maintenance tasks and using intelligent decoupling technology to prevent polling errors, OmniCenter® reduces the routine maintenance tasks to near-zero, freeing personnel to spend less time 'managing the management platform.' Scheduled device autodiscovery and rediscovery can intelligently determine how configuration changes on devices affect data collection and automatically compensating for replaced hardware, ports being activated or deactivated, and new modules or firmware being installed on network devices.
The OmniCenter® web interface allows for secure and easy configurability from anywhere in the enterprise. Intelligent design and default settings allow for minimal administration and quick deployment. OmniCenter® has been used for years in some of the world's largest and most complex environments, and has been optimized for easy configuration and management of hundreds or thousands of servers and network devices.

Whether you're a manager, executive, or network engineer, OmniCenter® provides a view that's ideal for helping you get the information you need to do your job quickly and efficiently. In addition to the pre-configured views, OmniCenter allows users to each have their own custom dashboard, constructed from a large number of customizable 'widgets' so that users can see only the information they want, in exactly the format they need.
Automatic Automatic refresh is available on all real-time status pages, making them suitable for constant display in a network operations center, and each user can set the overview page that best suits their role as their default home page when they log in. OmniCenter supports any number of concurrent web users at any access level.
Unlike some competing solutions, the exact information you need to see where the problem is occurring and begin fixing it is never more than a single click away. Clicking on any problem or issue in an at-a-glance page takes to directly to the information and graphs you need to spot and fix the problem.

This simple innovation alone can significantly reduce the time required to diagnose and fix a problem. OmniCenter® also includes automated and highly-configurable alarming so that you can be proactively notified of any threshold, service, application, or host outage - via any contact method.
OmniCenter® also provides integrated RSS feeds for all network issues and alerts, so you can keep in touch with the entire network via your Windows task-bar applet, Macintosh Dashboard, mobile device, or your favorite RSS news-reader, from anywhere in the enterprise or connected internet.
