Cisco IP SLA Probe
| The NimBUS for Cisco IP Service Level Agreement (IP SLA) probe monitors network devices supporting Cisco IP SLA and performs IP SLA administrative tasks (activate/deactivate, edit, new, delete). The probe monitors end-to-end availability, round trip response time, latency, jitter, and dropped packets between any two IP SLA-enabled points across a network. Supported protocols and services include DHCP, DNS, ICMP, FTP, HTTP, SNA, UDP, and TCP. A single probe can enable and collect data from multiple IP SLA data points. All Cisco IP SLA status data is presented in realtime alarm dashboards, performance trend reports, and or SLA compliance reports. | ![]() |
Client Access - DHCP, DNS, LDAP
The DHCP probe monitors the response time of the DHCP servers and will alert based on user-defined thresholds.
The DNS probe can be set up to specifically enquire on the DNS servers for A records (normal hostnames), MX records (mail servers) and NS records (name servers). It also records and monitors the response times. It can create alerts based on missing record conditions or poor response times.
The LDAP probe checks for response times and the number of record entries in the LDAP directory. The number of records check can be used as a "sanity check" on the content of the directory. It is able to create alerts based on record number thresholds whether they are too high or too low as well as on response times.
Network Connectivity Probe
| The Network Connectivity Probe monitors a collection of devices (routers, switches, servers, etc.) and TCP services (FTP, HTTP, POP3, etc.) for connection response. It also measures the time it takes to complete a connection. All connectivity and response time status data is analyzed and displayed in graphical enterprise consoles, performance reports and SLA reports. | ![]() |
Traffic Analyzer
| Monitoring traffic in terms of its volume is very useful for performance and capacity planning purposes. At times it is also useful to understand the type of traffic that is flowing through the network. In the event of an unexpected increase in traffic, it can be very helpful to analyse the traffic by protocol type e.g. IP, ARP, RARP, IPX, and be able to compare to previous analysis data. | ![]() |
SNMP Monitoring
The NimBUS for SNMP Monitoring solution provides polling for V1, V2c, and V3 SNMP MIB objects. The solution listens for unsolicited SNMP traps and convert trap messages to the NimBUS alert format. The solution comes equipped with a SNMP "sniffer" for realtime trap analysis. It can convert NimBUS alerts to SNMP format and forward traps to popular 3rd party network management systems. All SNMP status data is analyzed and displayed in graphical enterprise consoles, performance reports and SLA reports.
Internet Mail Services
The Internet Mail Services probe is able to send a test email on a regular basis via SMTP, read it back through POP3 and then calculate the full round trip time. Multiple profiles can be defined to check out different email accounts. These profiles can have separate response time thresholds and error reporting characteristics. You can also test email response times through our Microsoft Exchange probe.
Interface Traffic
The NimBUS Interface Traffic Probe auto-discovers all device interfaces; once discovered the solution monitors interface traffic and performs bandwidth utilization calculations. Additionally, each device interface is scrutinized for error conditions that may degrade data throughput and performance. Status and utilization data is analyzed and displayed in graphical enterprise consoles, performance reports and SLA reports.
Web Site Monitoring
The NimBUS for Web Monitoring solution monitors web page (URL) load times and page contents. The solution monitors end-to-end response times for web-based applications and business services. Additionally, the solution monitors web server processes, resources and web server network connectivity response times. All web status data is analyzed and displayed in graphical alarm dashboards, performance reports and SLA reports.
